MINI is a custom firmware replacement for the Wii's Starlet co-processor. It's an acronym for "MINI Is Not IOS". It's primary purpose is to enable AHBPROT, to allow the Broadway (PowerPC) CPU to access all of the Wii's hardware directly.

MINI was originally created as part of BootMii, however, it's also extremely useful for other applications. MINI is the current loader used to boot Wii-Linux. It starts Gumboot as it's PowerPC ELF file, which itself acts as a boot menu, however often being used to boot Linux.
